An access audit is an assessment of the services delivered from a building or environment. The audit highlights any potential barriers that disabled* people may face when trying to access the services on offer.

Following the on-site assessment, a gap analysis (when compared to the requirements found in the Equality Act, Building Regulations Approved Document M and BS 8300) is compiled in the form of a report, so that an action plan for improvement works can be developed.

Suggested recommendations and timescales are prioritised into short, medium and long term solutions.

*Disability is the consequence of an impairment that may be physical, cognitive, mental, sensory, emotional, developmental, or some combination of these. A disability may be present from birth, or occur during a person’s lifetime.
